One little light,
at a time.

A Christ-centred home for the youngest children of Masi — where they are safe, known, nurtured, and loved. Help us build it.

The Vision
During a prayer time in Masi, the Lord gave me a picture. The sun was going down and the community grew dark. Then one little light turned on inside a home. Then another. Then another — until the whole of Masi was lit.

When I opened my eyes, a group of children had quietly gathered around us. They were simply standing there, watching. Then they began asking us to pray for them.

I believe with all my heart that the Lord is going to transform Masi through its children. They are not too young to know Jesus. They are not too young to carry His presence. They are not too young to bring His light into their homes and their community.

That vision was the confirmation I needed — and it is where our name comes from.

"One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much."Luke 16:10

We don't yet have our own building — but the work is already happening, every week, across Masiphumelele.

What We Do

The tangible love of Jesus

The work looks different week to week, but the purpose stays the same.

Feeding

Around 1,000 nutritious meals every week, alongside grocery parcels and emergency food for families in crisis.

Early childhood

Supporting existing ECDs and daycares — food, teaching, and help building stronger, safer programmes for the little ones.

Discipleship

Bibles, mentoring, prayer gatherings, and support groups — sharing the hope of Jesus with children, women, and families.

Standing in the gap

School uniforms and stationery, sports equipment, home visits, and responding when fires and disaster strike the community.

The Next Step

An Early Learning Centre for Masi

Our vision is a Christ-centred Early Childhood Development centre and safe space in Masi — a permanent home where young children receive quality early education, nutritious meals, emotional support, and a strong biblical foundation.

We want to buy, not rent. A lease can end, and this community has been let down enough. Little Lights For Jesus is now a registered South African Non-Profit Company, so the building will belong to the mission — not to any individual, and not to a landlord's goodwill.

We are starting with the youngest, from three months to five years old. We don't need to begin with everything. We simply need to begin.
